Questions & answers

The things people ask first.

Is it really free?

Yes. There are no ads, no purchases and no subscription, and no account to make.

Do I need to download or install anything?

No. Press Read online and you can begin at once, in any modern browser. The apps are optional.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once opened, the web app keeps working with no connection. Settings → Offline saves every text and study tool on your device (about 20 MB). The iPhone, iPad and Mac apps contain everything already.

Which texts are included?

The Hebrew Tanakh (Westminster Leningrad Codex), the Septuagint (Brenton) and the Apocrypha, the Greek New Testament (SBL), the Hebrew New Testament (Salkinson–Ginsburg), and the Targumim — each with English. The full list, with sources.

Why the Jewish order of books?

Torah, Nevi’im and Ketuvim is the Tanakh’s own order, and it lets the New Testament follow as a separate volume. The books found only in Greek sit in an Apocrypha section.

Why do some verse numbers differ from my Bible?

Hebrew numbering is the common reference: for example a Psalm’s superscription is verse 1 where the Hebrew counts it so. English and Greek texts are aligned to it, and switching texts takes you to the matching verse.

What is the English translation?

Beside the Hebrew and Greek it is the WMB, a modern public-domain translation (its full name and source are on the texts page); beside the Septuagint it is Brenton’s; for the books found only in Greek you can choose the World English Bible or Brenton’s.

Does it show transliteration?

Yes. Add a transliteration column beside any Hebrew or Greek text from the Texts menu (Parallel, Linear and Reader), or use the Interlinear view, where each word appears with its transliteration and an English gloss.

Where are my notes and highlights stored?

On your device only. You can export a backup at any time (Settings → Export / Import), and the apps can sync through a folder you choose.

Does it track me?

No accounts, no analytics, no ads. The privacy page says exactly what is stored and where.

Is there an Android app?

Not an app, but the web version works on Android and can be added to the home screen from the browser’s menu.

I found a mistake. Who do I tell?

The support page has the address. Tell us the reference and what you see.
